Is it required that I be Roman Catholic to attend the school?
No!
While Pope John Paul II High School is unabashedly Catholic, our education is open to any young person who wants high-quality college-preparatory education and wants to know God better in his/ her life.

What sports are offered?
PJPII HS will field sub-varsity (freshman and JV) teams in sports during the 2008-2009 academic year. Plans include soccer, cross country and golf teams for the fall of 2008, boys' basketball and girls' basketball teams for the winter season (swimming is also being explored), and baseball, softball, tennis, and sailing teams for the spring 2009 season. Additional sports will be added during the following years as enrollment numbers continue to grow.

When will the school receive accreditation?
Pope John Paul II High School will receive its accreditation through the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). We have asked for permission to begin this process early.

I heard that no transfer students will be accepted. What does this mean?
that statement is not correct! It is possible to transfer into an existing class. For example, during the 2008-2009 school year it will be possible for students to transfer into the school's freshman or sophomore classes. Call or email the admissions office for additional information.

What transportation options exist?
All families, including out-of-district families, may receive bus transportation from the Barnstable School District. Contact the Barnstable School District for additional information. Additionally, BREEZE buses also provide service. And, of course, car pooling is available.

What will class sizes be?
Required, core classes will have 15-25 students.
Elective and upper-level course will have smaller class size.

Is there a dress code?
PJPII High School students are required to wear a uniform.

Why attend Pope John Paul II High School?
To know God better. To get an outstanding education and to be well prepared for college. To start something new. To be a leader. To leave a legacy bigger than me. To stand out. To give and receive in a place where I am valued. To begin fun traditions and rituals. Because God is challenging me.
